Recent Events:
  Our counties celebrated the Month of April!
The Storytellers musical folk tales assemblies on April 15 and 16, were a huge success. www.thestorytellers.org The Big Rapids morning assembly had 250 attend, and the afternoon count was 427. The next day in Reed City, the assembly had a 390 in attendance. That makes a total of 1,067 pre k thru 2nd grade kids, teachers, and parents. WOW!

The Reed City parade was held April 23rd with 405 in attendance. The count for the April 24th, Big Rapids parade was 790. The Downtown Business Association decorated the main street with purple balloons. Children’s artwork was displayed in store windows. The Salvation Army provided refreshments following the parade in both counties. The parades total was 1,195.
The first annual Community and Family Expo was held in Big Rapids on April 26th with a count of 2,000. The grand total for the April activities is 4,262!

All three of these Early Childhood events made the front page of the local newspaper. A big “Thank you” to the members of the M-OAEYC, Children’s Councils and Great Start Collaborative/Coalition…who helped plan and fund these events...we know how to CELEBRATE CHILDREN!
