children's assembly moyc

The MOYC Children's Assemblies with
the Aerokanana's Gymnastic Team
in Reed City and in Big Rapids
were a great success.
There were over 700 students,
plus teachers and parents
in the High School gym in Reed City.
The Big Rapids assembly at the
Middle School had just over
1,000 children, teachers and parents.
The team encouraged children
to make healthy choices and avoid smoking, drugs, and alcohol.
A good time was had by all!

News and Events
Month of the Young Child activities in Mecosta and Osceola Counties were a collaborative effort with our local AEYC, Great Start Collaborative/ Coalition, and several community groups. The Mecosta and Osceola County Commissioners issued an official proclamation…April, 2010, as the Month of the Young Child.  All citizens were encouraged to participate in the activities and join together to recognize and support the needs of young children in our communities.  Please see the attached flyer that includes our Community & Family EXPO (90 tables & more!), Blessing of the Babies, Child ID, car seat inspection clinic, FREE Children’s Concert with The Verve Pipe, etc.   There were 500 free seats at the Big Rapids High School auditorium.  When you ask the Director of the Mecosta County Chamber how many attended the EXPO..."Thousands!"  :)
