MiAEYC 2015 Early Childhood Conference

The 2015 Conference will offer workshops covering an extensive range of issues and topics in child development; family and community engagement; health, safety and nutrition; interactions and guidance; observation, documentation and assessment; teaching and learning; professionalism; and management. Staff and administrators in family and group homes, child care centers, preschool, kindergarten and early elementary programs will hear from experts on early education and care, attend workshops and exchange ideas to enhance the quality of their work with children and families.
Attending the general session and workshops provides five hours of training on Thursday and Friday, and four hours of training on Saturday. Attending a full-day focus session provides five hours of training.
SCECH Approval Recieved
The 2015 MiAEYC Early Childhood Conference has been approved to offer a range of 4–15 State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs).
- Full-day focus session participants can become eligible to earn 5 SCECHs per focus session.
- Conference participants on Thursday and Friday can become eligible to earn a maximum of 5 SCECHs per day.
- Conference participants on Saturday can become eligible to earn a maximum of 4 SCECHs.
To become eligible to earn SCECHs, participants must comply with attendance verification requirements and complete the Secure Central Registry (SCR) online evaluation. The attendance verification requirements and procedures are SCECH sponsor-determined in compliance with Michigan Department of Education (MDE) guidelines. Failure of a participant to fulfill the requirements will result in no SCECHs being awarded.
