Wolf Trap Artist Wanda Degen

Artist's Name:

Wanda Degen

Area of Expertise:

Music

Educational Philosophy:

Music is a language that offers opportunities for connection through communication and self-expression easily accessible and enjoyed by all ages, especially the very young. I see music as a limitless source for teaching academic and life skills to the preschool child.

Approach:

With both teachers and children my approach is hands-on; we learn by doing. I bring to the classroom a variety of traditional and not-so-traditional instruments: strings, rhythm and wind. They are used to explore sounds and to enhance stories, songs and dance.
